"Most of us grew up trusting the tap. But somewhere along the way the water changed, and so did what we're willing to accept for our families."

The Science

What Is Hydrogen Water?

The K8 uses electrolysis to split the water molecule and infuse it with molecular hydrogen (H₂). Hydrogen molecules are small enough to get inside every cell in your body, where they neutralize free radicals tied to inflammation, early aging, and chronic disease. It's one of the most studied antioxidants in recent science.

The measurable number is called ORP, or Oxidation-Reduction Potential. Tap water and most bottled water carry a positive ORP, which means they're slowly oxidizing your cells. Kangen Water produces a strongly negative ORP. Every sip is working against oxidative stress instead of adding to it.

Ukon. Not All Turmeric Is the Same.

Turmeric has been used for centuries. Most of the world's supply today is grown in bulk conditions that leave very little of the active compound behind. Enagic's Ukon starts with different soil, a different harvest, and a different standard entirely.

What Makes It Special

Okinawa has one of the highest concentrations of centenarians anywhere on earth. Spring Ukon (春ウコン) has been part of Okinawan health practice for generations. Enagic grows it themselves on that same volcanic soil.

Volcanic Soil = Superior Bioavailability

The volcanic soil in Okinawa produces turmeric with significantly higher curcumin content than commercially farmed turmeric. Curcumin is the compound doing all the work, so where you grow it matters a lot.

Spring vs. Fall Harvest

Most turmeric is fall-harvested because that's when you get the most volume. Enagic uses Spring Ukon. Smaller yield, significantly higher concentration of active compounds. They took the quality route.

Why I Share This

I'm Sally, mum to two boys (plus two dogs and five guinea pigs!) on the east coast of Australia. I stumbled across Enagic while I was on a mission to level up our family's hydration. We already had a whole-house water filter, but I was deep down the rabbit hole researching reverse osmosis and every other filtration method under the sun to see how we could make our water even better. That's when the K8 crossed my path, in my research and, funnily enough, on Instagram around the same time.

To be completely honest, I was mildly sceptical at first. I like to look past the noise and find out the facts for myself, so I spent weeks exploring everything: the science behind molecular hydrogen water, the different pH levels, all the everyday uses, and even the business model behind it. By the time I finished my deep dive, I was completely sold.

At the heart of everything I do is a deep desire to transform how we look at health in this world. True wellness isn't complicated; it's systemic and holistic. It starts with the absolute basics: what we choose to put in our bodies, what we put on them, and what we surround ourselves with every single day.

There are so many simple, powerful ways we can strip back the noise and return to the basics through our water and our food. It's about naturally reducing chronic inflammation, helping our bodies truly thrive, and living happier, healthier lives for ourselves in mind, body and spirit.

More than anything, my vision is to protect my wee ones, our future generations, so they don't have to carry the burden of chronic disease. And I want everyone to walk their own version of this journey in a way that feels aligned, but with lots of support.
